Medication Administration Theory

Course Description: This course will introduce the learner to principles of medication administration according to the practical nurse scope of practice. The learner will develop knowledge and skills regarding the rights of medication administration, storage and distribution systems, credible drug resources, accurate dose calculation, and safe administration techniques. Protocols for medication errors, controlled substance management, and documentation specific to medication administration will also be studied.
